Just so you may see ...Hmmm, very creative thinking! Just so you may see my bias, I actually thought the increase in min. wage was in part brought in to help shore up gov't revenues via tax/cpp/ei, since it was expected to have the impact of reducing the 'non-taxable' tips, switching income from non-taxable to taxable.
I think, re the above - although, if I as a server might like the top of the MWR as a wage, I really might not want to pay more taxes. I can save a lot more myself if some of my income is tax free (ie/direct tips, no cpp/ei at the least, none for the business either).
- and, do you have any thoughts whether the above might also influence actual customer tipping and that impact on business costs? If I, as a customer, know that you have to top up to the MWR ceiling, would I be predisposed to tip less? I always thought that tipping was supposed to 'reward' good service and is not an obligation, the above makes it a business obligation so now you really have to manage the 'good service'. I guess if the business then tracks which employees the business has to kick in more to reach the MWR ceiling, that might give you some info on their effectiveness (if you weren't aware already) but maybe you might just see a broad overall decrease in tips?
Anyways, the above are questions only, thank you for putting this idea out there, entrepreneurs are great at solving problems :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4582193149716861249.post-44004857918662918892017-10-16T14:27:25.279-06:002017-10-16T14:27:25.279-06:00Women for Doug! As I mentioned in my post, I think consulting directly with members isn't needed. I mean we did elect the board to make the high level decisions.

Having said that; major decisions shouldn't be made in a vacuum. The PD's are their pipeline to the members and CA Presidents.

Many CA presidents know the member base very well. We need to start giving them some credit when it comes to knowing the "heart beat" of the party.

Beyond that I don't want to see the AGM side-tracked by this. While we won't be passing any policies,we will be discussing them; I think that is the more important discussion for members to be having at the AGM.

When it comes to electing a new board; perhaps the question to pose to the candidates is "what methods will you use to hear the will of the members?"

Jane Morganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11815049977368737707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4582193149716861249.post-44186377119738440542012-11-16T21:20:56.534-07:002012-11-16T21:20:56.534-07:00Jane,

In my experience auditors look for proof the money was received.
