Strange sounds in Conklin, Alberta

This video was posted on YouTube yesterday. Give it a listen, let me know what you think.

Both my husband and son are currently working in Conklin. I've asked them to see if they can find out who these guys are. Cory is pretty certain this is a slashing crew.

This has been posted on a couple of other websites and forums, with many theories being generated. Including some who think it is a hoax.

  1. first off! these guys could be fired for posting this video,,why would they risk their jobs for a hoax

  2. Why would they be fired?

"first off"... Isn't that usually followed by a "second" ?

  3. I first found this posted on FB. I looked at it, and the first question that came to mind was why is the camera only pointing in one direction? Usually when this stuff is happening, the person shooting the video is panning around to show that they cannot determine the source of the sound.

If it is indeed genuine, they may not be "panning" because it would reveal who they are working for. But they are out in the middle of the woods....so why not walk somewhere so you CAN pan around?

I personally think it's a joke. It's not very funny since I live near Windsor Ontario, and there have been noise disturbances in the west end for a year and 1/2 now. That is genuine, not out in the woods. They've never found out what the "hum" is.

This stuff is happening around the globe and we don't need "three stooges" (probably hydro/or government workers) goofing off like this.

Hi Jane...nice to meet you! I just found your blog looking for another angle on this "strange sounds". I'll put you in my favorites, and visit from time to time....thanks for posting about this video!! Carol H.

    1. Of it is a joke, how come no one has a sense of humour? People have too mich time on their hands.

    2. Oh so you're saying Alberta is not considered part of the world & that Ontario's noises are moreso genuine? There hasn't been a source for these noises heard worldwide proven fact or fiction anywhere including Ontario so why would u disregard Alberta's occurrence? Yeah it's your opinion but wreaks bias which holds no validity to me :P Perhaps a hoax all over, perhaps in a few places or perhaps geographical or scientific explanations for some places or all but not any less interesting than Ontario, etc!! Sheeesh!

    3. Maybe you dont know what alberta looks like.... But these boys cant just "walk" somewhere where they "can" pan around... They are likely hours into the bush by vehical. And he is likely panning upwards cause there is just solid trees around.

  5. Should see the video that capture the sound and aircraft that was making them.. Guess were getting our warning now.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The cameraman did pan around at one point, but obviously he kept the camera pointed primarily in one direction because a.) he wanted to keep the people in the frame to capture reactions and stuff and b.) if the sound is everywhere and you can see nothing then it's not really important where you're aiming. It's about the sound, not the video.

I would love to know if this video can be verified as true. If your husband and son have any luck finding these people please post an update.

  7. I have come to believe these same sounds have been heard around the world on the same date. I guess Conklin doesn't have the rights to strange sounds. If it was a hoax, these guys could have picked a more comfortable place to get you to disqualify themselves by all of you naysayers. Look up the arrival of our Galactic friends on other web sites.

  8. Ok windsor ontario u say these guys are stooges and that its a hoax ? Is it because they are native? How can u say they are making this up were u there. sorry if your a none believer but give your head a shake these things just don't happen in windsor. this is real your just calling them liars because there not white there natives.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Anon 7:15 That is quite a stretch. Not sure how you jumped from "stooges" to natives based on Carol's comment.

The workers are slashers. Part of seismic line crew. You can see full descriptions of this work here: http://www.oilfieldworkers.com/seismicjobs.php

As for the video it seems to have the same sounds that were recorded in another video from Kiev last year.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The fact that these guys are part of a crew conducting siesmic test means that they are using equipment that generate sound waves to penetrate the ground. It is very likely that these may be what the microphone in the camera is picking up

    ReplyDelete
  11. Raf it is believed they are "slashers". There basic equipment would be chainsaws.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I worked siesmic , there is no line crews till all slashing is done. which means its just them in the bush away from it all. Although there is a ton of oil activity in the area off conklin, but must slashers would be in virgin areas that have no activity. Hmmm i have been in the bush for 25 years and never ever heard anything like that. As far as i can see the used an iphone and it amazes me what u can do with tech stuff. It is a conversation starter thats for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Spence, thank you for the clarification. I used incorrect term in my Jan 15 comment. I should have said that slashers are a component of the whole seismic process, rather than "line crew" which refers to another component.

As I mentioned earlier there are other areas on the internet that have compared this video to another taken in Kiev.

I think what could have occurred is one individual had that video playing on a phone (possibly in his pocket) while another was filming. This could have been known or unknown to the others present.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It has been proven false. The same sound is taken from the Kiev video. The Costa Rica sound is also taken from Kiev. So, one video from one place. It was not from all over the world. I made a video of the same thing with the same noise. It took 20 mins to do. 30 seconds to record, 5 min to add audio to the video I shot, and a few more minutes to upload to YouTube. people thought it was real. ALl you need is Windows Media Movie Maker.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I feel sorry for u non believers :(... And then if something happens and your not prepared its just gonna be more scarier for u guys. U might as believe what u want and not what anyone tells ya... Things are happening and the government don't know what to do or how to explain these sounds. They just don't want everyone in a panick so they say it's a hoax!

  16. I really did get freaked out watching the videos this morning on youtube, I couldn't stop thinking about it. But I think some videos are truthful and others are a hoax, either way it's creepy and there are other videos of the earth making strange "moans" before natural disaster. Does anyone know about the video in Edmonton being a hoax?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Would love to see the link where it has been proven! Not that I believe this one or any other one is real but I do like to debate on true facts. Just sayin......

    ReplyDelete
  18. As hard as it is for me to believe these noises are linked so some sort of inter galactic or Armageddon phenomena it's also hard to believe some oil industry workers have nothing better to do but make a video in the middle of nowhere with footage of themselves on it just for the s**t & giggles of it BUT ya never know! Fact or fiction? Don't know but it definitely caught everyone's attention. Especially the skeptics! Just sayin'.....

  19. This is produced using a technique called plasma generation. Simply stated, with enough energy, electrons can be stripped from atoms. The results are highly charged particles (in this case in the earth's ionosphere, where the Aurora Borealis occurs). These ions can be "modulated" through ground based recordings by volumetrically downloading charged particles drawn from the ionosphere. This, in effect, causes a modulation, or change, in the ionosphere's net charge. In simple terms, the ionosphere then behaves like a giant speaker. Using differentiated energy techniques it is further possible to focus the modulated signal to various locations on Earth. The sounds seem weird but are part of the frequency research. When you here these sounds it seems they are coming from everywhere but nowhere in particular. The mentioned "plasma" is the energy source that modulates the air --- again, just like a loudspeaker. This is, in fact, a focused energy research project being conducted on this continent. Its purpose is warfare. Can you imagine an illiterate foreign soldier being subjected to that noise day and night!! Can you imagine literate civilian protesters being subjected to it!!

This was the Reader's Digest version. In a nutshell it is man made, directed energy warfare research. It is very basic, high energy research. I don't mean to trivialize this as it can be hazardous to your physical and mental health.

  20. yeah, i agree those boys will not jeopardize their jobs just to play a trick like little bitty bad boys. Unless, they are that immature n don't recognize the consequences, if its a hoax, as i do know some ppl from conklin, they'll be fired.

  21. I noticed that you have not posted my explanation that I provided last evening. Have you not taken the time to read it or are you just scientifically slow or are the words too big. I realize that I might have singed the mystery element but come on, this is nothing outlandish like UFOs or sullen conspiracies. Want a further hint --- HAARP. I am now reluctant that I took my valuable time to provide what I thought was a public service. If I do not see my explanation posted I will surmise that this site is not interested in a scientific world scoop but rather soap box dramatics. Thank you and goodbye.

  22. Anon Jan 17 @4:07 PM.

All comments for this posting have been published.

I do work full-time and I sleep at night, so no I don't monitor and publish comments 24/7.

I find it interesting that someone who "took their valuable time" to share "a scientific world scoop"..... doesn't provide their name.

Ahh, but then you couldn't hurl unfounded insults.

  23. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry website on Aug 23, in Colorado and Virginia there were 2 underground explosions blowing up underground bunkers. These sounds heard around the world recently is the air pressure being released fromthese underground facilities.

  24. Well, I have to apologize. If it made into the annals of Dutchsinse blogs....then it must be good. Here's a compilation. The Conklin sounds are at about 5 min. but the one that comes after that is even more disturbing.

  25. To aNONymous 4:07pm,
I love how your insult to Jane suggests you are of greater intelligence, based on her not responding at your beck and call. Yet you can't spell yourself...."might have SINGED the mystery element." But I'm sure that was just autocorrect on your iPhone, right? And you meant scientific world SCOPE, too, right? Because world scoop really suggests nothing other than a quickly gathered piece of info. Might I add that was very non-scientific of you to not proof-read your comments first. Maybe stick to Tweeting from now on.

  26. When I first saw the video, I was creep out! But I do agree with others as to why would these workers jeopardize their jobs. Who cares if the camera man didn't pan around, not like we could see the sound? I'm just saying the two guys in the video did enough for me. I did a little more research online and found out that there have been very similar noise all over the world near the same time. Either way I would love someone to explain to me how this is a hoax, and why pick this time? I live in Edmonton and there is another video with a similar sound too, shot from downtown. I don't know I think this is cool and I love the topic and if it's a joke, great work boys!

  27. My guess? Hollywood publicity stunt, Cloverfield 2, haha. All kidding aside, it very well could be. We've seen viral marketing before that proved to be very cleverly hidden among reality. Just a guess, I don't really know much about it. I also said Heath Ledger wasn't actually dead and would appear somewhere as the joker so...lol. But, that's still my guess.

  29. hoax ! ..I believe in the paranormal but this is BS .. the audio is identical of a video that is already on youtube " strange sounds in Kiev" listen to both and you will see that this video at 0:13 and the other "strange sounds in Kiev" at 0:25 are identical

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well I also listened to the youtube of all 3 videos...if these noises are of such a concern for people all over the world...how come its not on the TV news...arent scients trying to find out what that noise is...I dont think its the 4 Trumpets blowing...GIVE ME A BREAK...why are people in such a hurry for the world to end....wouldnt WE ALL HEAR THEM... so sick of everyone talking about 2012...if it is comming theres not much we can do about it anyways...I almost think it sounds cool...like whale song...doesent it say in the bible four corners of the earth...the four corners are not in Alberta..maybe its aliens reving up their engines...HAVE FAITH IN GOD..HE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU...I dont go to church but I have a strong
faith in God and everyone there and Im not convinced these are real..WE SHALL SEE what happesn...TIME WILL TELL

  31. Interesting that people would yell "hoax" on the basis of matching these "sounds" to footage from Kiev (or anywhere, for that matter).

If we assume these sounds to be genuine, it only seems logical to also assume whatever is generating it would likely cause a similar or identical noise to be heard elsewhere. If we accept the explanation from Anonymous regarding high frequency research being done by HAARP as the "source", then it's reasonable to assume "sounds" produced by such a device in one area to be the same as sounds produced in another area (assuming the source is the same).

If everyone is hearing the same thing in various areas at the same time, that's a bit weirder but still plausible. To assume we know everything about our environment is naive and arrogant; who knows what scientific meddling can do out in the wild? Take a look at the Manhattan Project for example...it was widely believe that detonation of a fission weapon would consume all of the hydrogen in Earth's atmosphere and yet the test went ahead anyways. If, in fact, a source such as HAARP is responsible, there is no one on this planet who can explicitly predict such anomalies; that's why it's called RESEARCH.

I haven't bothered to listen, in fairness. Simple explanation: I hate horror movies/ghost stuff/etc, and adding yet another unknown and potentially creepy noise to my brain is likely not a good idea. :)

  32. Personally I think this video was already out there Like YouTube) as somthing else, someone stole the clip and add that sound to it. People do that all the time..

  33. Hi Jane,

I've heard whisperings that this noise was heard right here in Calgary last night. Have you heard of any such comments yourself?

  34. Hello people the men are from gift lake and there a slashing crew it was not only them that heard it my dad also heard it conklin is pretty much bush only way to get around is walking these noises are being heard all over the world edmonton manitoba brazil belgium hungary and its ALL THE SAME SOUND

  38. Within the last few weeks I heard this exact same noise or sound in Martensville, Sask.I cannot remember exactly when I heard it but it gave me a weird feeling. I could not figure out what it was so I closed my door and went inside.I almost went out to see if I could find the source but because it was like nothing I had ever heard before I stayed in.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I heard it! The Conklin video is bang on for me because I was outside walking to work in Fort McMurray, AB. It was 5 am or so on Monday morning I believe, a mild temp i think too. I'm from the Great Lakes area, so I just figured wind noise was whistling though something, somewhere. We just had a 7 yr biggest solar wind/aurora borealis here, so apparently its those charged particles.

    1. I work near Conkin up in Fort McMurray on one of the oilsands site. I think I know what that sound might be, taking in to consideration distance and forest density .... that sound is from a SAGD flare tower at full. Ive been on site when our plant had emergency flairing, burning off of sulpher gases....it sounds like dragon breathing fire. The noise swelles up and down.
However on Thursday Feb9 @9:15am, there was an unexplained pressure wave that was felt all over our plant. Shook our building but no explosion. It was not plant related. Unnerving
